Employee investigations  - Presented by Mark Thompson

When an employee makes an informal or formal complaint, the employer should take immediate steps to stop the alleged conflict, protect involved parties and begin investigations. Under many laws, employers are legally obligated to investigate complaints (harassment, discrimination, retaliation, safety and ethical) in a timely manner. In addition, any appropriate corrective action is required to be taken by the employer to ensure illegal actions and behaviors cease immediately.

We will discuss the steps involved in an investigation.

Mark Thompson is  seasoned HR professional with broad HR experience and a focus in employee relations and workplace investigations.  Having worked in the healthcare, human services, non-profit, and retain/tech arenas, he has worked through many different employee relations situations, and has both conducted and lead the workplace investigative process for various types and levels of employees.  This session will focus on the general best practices for conducting workplace investigations, regardless of industry, and how the information learned from investigations can help your business succeed.
